The Batten Kill Rambler Scenic Train is based out of Salem,
NY which is 20
miles east of Saratoga Springs, NY. The Rambler and the 35
mile historic
railroad over which it operates is owned and sponsored by
the Northeastern New
York Railroad Preservation Group (NE-Rail). NE-Rail is a not-for-profit
educational corporation formed to preserve a portion of the
Delaware & Hudson
Railway's Washington county branch. Train service both freight
and passenger
is operated by the Batten Kill Railroad Company, Inc. (BKRR).
The BKRR is an
all Alco powered shortline; we operate two RS-3 units year
round. Passenger
service operates over 10 miles of the line between Salem,
Shushan and,>br> starting in the summer of 1999, Cambridge,
NY.
