Gas Turbine Locomotives



During the 1940's, the Union Pacific Railroad, allways a lover of big power, experimented with a wide variety of motive power on it's long runs over Sherman Hill between Omaha and Cheyenne. The Gas Turbines were one of those experiments. Called the "Verandas" long roofed walkways, they became as common as the Big Boy steam locomotives that they replaced.


This is a "RETIRED MODEL" we have no more on hand, and no plans to make any more. But while we do not have any more, you might be able to find them at Hobby Shops that still have them in Inventory, or at Train Shows, or on Ebay. And sorry, we have no way of knowing what hobby shop might have some, you will need to check on your own. (We are leaving the stock number information on the Web, so you know what stock numbers you are looking for when you are checking around.)
